Have you tried the 1450 driver built in?

I have the drivers I can try that Steve has recommended. I have also used this printer on my G4, but I haven't been able to figure out how to get those drivers to show up as options in my printer utility for this Samsung printer.

I'm feeling a bit slow on this, but help is appreciated.

"Not Supported" means they won't answer questions. It doesn't necessarily mean that it won't work.

Once you download the driver, you need to install it.  It should then be available in the printer driver list.
There are also four versions listed.  Try them all.

Open the installer and follow the instructions.
Usually the installer walks you through installing.

You need to install the free Stuffit Expander to decompress .sit files, which will give you the installer to then install

.zip compression/decompression is built-in.  Stuffit was big in the last 10 years and used to come with the OS.

Does the printer have a test page function?  Just to make sure the printer still works in itself.

I tried so many, that I don't remember exactly which one of the ones Steve pointed me to actually worked.   When I go to preferences and open the printer app, it shows the driver as being version 1.1 for the 1430. For the URL it says "usb://Samsung/ML-1430?serial=7320-02093036680". If you can tell me where else to look to get the specific information you need, and/or copy my driver to send it to you, just help me know where to look.

I just upgraded from Tiger to Snow Leopard (10.6.2) and now can't print on my Samsung ML-1430.  I've tried several of the Samsung drivers including the ML-1450-Gutenprint v5.2.3.  When I hit print, the printer starts up, the Print Dialog box says the printer is online and the document is printing.  It will then show the job as Completed... but nothing prints out.  The paper doesn't even go through the printer.

I'm choosing the ML-1450-Gutenprint v5.2.3 driver from Printer Setup/Driver/Select Printer Software and then selecting from the long list.

The printer is connected to my iMacs USB port.  Does anyone have any suggestions that I could try?

This sounds similar to Itague's problem above but I can't locate the "version 1.1 for the 1430" that he mentions.

I guess the problem is that I still don't seem to have the ML-1430 driver.  I just downloaded the MAC OS ML-1430 Print Driver,SPL (ver.2.5), extracted the file and installed it. 

When I went to Printer Setup/Driver/Select Printer Software all the Samsung drivers were listed but no ML-1430.  I tried the 1250 and 1450 with the same no printing result.

As per the Install Read Me file instructions...
3.Method of updating the new driver.
- Execute the Print Center
- Remove the installed driver.
- Go to "Library/Printers" folder
- Delete the "SAMSUNG" folder.
- Execute new driver's install program..
  (click the samsung pinter driver)

I could not figure out how to "Remove the installed driver" before doing the last 3 steps.  I don't know what they're referring to as the Print Center since there are several print screens.  However, the install did put a new Samsung folder in my "Library/Printers" folder... so I assume the install proceeded correctly.  It required me to restart my Mac, which I did.  But still no ML-1430 driver listed.

Can you see what I may be missing, Steve?
