January 24th – Macintosh Computer Day – Fun Holiday
On this day in 1984, the very first Macintosh computer, the precursor of today’s Apple computers or “Macs” as they are lovingly called, was introduced to the consumer market.
The Apple Computer Information and Data Exchange of Rochester, is one of the oldest and largest Apple User Group. Our main purpose is educational; we demonstrate, inform, and instruct in the use of Apple computing technology. Since 1978, Apple CIDER has had a dedicated staff of volunteers who maintain the organization and help run meetings. Whether you’ve been using a Mac for years or just bought your first MacBook or iPhone, or iPad just last week, come and expand the horizons of your Apple world. Meetings are held September to June on the 2nd Wednesday of the month,
at East High School, 1801 East Main Street, between Culver and Ohio Streets. Q&A meetings are held the the following Saturday. Special meetings are held at different locations during the summer. Click here to subscribe to our calendar.
E-mail roberthoey@me.com if you plan on attending, to get a link to the virtual meeting.

CES 2021 is taking place digitally this year, and it hasn’t been as exciting as in past years because many vendors have opted out. That said, some companies are still showing off some interesting Apple-related accessories that are coming out this year and that will be of interest to Mac, iPad, and iPhone users.
